Click the link below for info. regarding Connecticut child seat belt/restraint laws. I'm not sure whether it specifically addresses height of front seat passengers (I posted this same question a while back). If it doesn't, I'd go with the 12-years-old and 5'4" tall rule. 5'4" is considered the minimum safe height due to height of airbag deployment. That being said, some adults aren't even 5'4"....that's probably why the minimum age, 12, is given.

The age is 12. Unfortunately no laws to enforce air bag safety that I am aware of yet. Went through this with my ex. and researched it. The shortest "average" 12 y/o is 53". Also found through research that safety has more to due with age due to how the body develops than height. Go figure.

the legal requirement where I live (Ottawa, Canada) is 12 years old OR at least five feet tall...
if you are less than five feet, the airbag can actually break your neck as it comes out of the dashboard

i thought it was like 12-13. i heard like children younger than that get hurt by the airbag rather than saved. like it could cause neck injury. even suffocation
