IN a survey done by ESPN the magazine the players voted on which team has teh best fans, over 65% of the players voted the St. Louis Cardinals to have the best fans. The Cardinals have the most classy and faithful fans there are. They applaud when other teams players make a good play, and they love when guys hustle. Cards fans by far. Yankees and Red Sox fans are obnoxious, Cubs fans are just desperate.......

It's somewhere between Cubs fans and Red Sox fans. Until the Red Sox won the World Series recently, they were probably some of the longest suffering fans in history. But for the most part Cubs fans and Red Sox fans are intensely loyal no matter what. It takes a lot to stand by your team when they have almost a century long World Series drought.
But I have to admit, anybody who is a Devil Ray's fan has to be pretty loyal considering they've been awful from day one. They just haven't been around long enough to really qualify with the Cubs or Red Sox fans.

I am from St. Louis and I would have to say Cardinals Fans because of our knowledge of the game and the history of the team. I would also say Yankees, Red Sox, and Cubs fans because including the Cards these four teams are part of the two best rivalries in baseball. Go Cards!

The best fans in baseball are the Yankee fans and the Phillie fans. They understand the game as well as respect the game. The worse fans in baseball are the Devil Ray fans because they don't even support their team. The same can be said of the Marlin fans. They could care less about their teams.
Cubs fans are very faithful to their team as well.

I grew up a Cardinals and also an Angels fan. I had to have one from both leagues and since I moved to Calif when I was young and lived less that mile from Angel stadium....so I won't talk about my own teams, only other teams that I experienced.
My job for years required 70% travel and I have visited stadiums and gone to games in numerous cities - always wearing my Cards or Angels hat depending on AL or NL stadium. My friends refuse to take me to Dodgers games. It usually brings on some interesting conversations and I have met some people who are extremely fanatical about their team and yet have no idea about baseball and think anyone supporting or liking another team is a personal threat (enough about Raider fans) - the most interesting fans I met were in Boston. After a Red Sox game, walk in to Cask 'n Flagon wearing an Angels hat and you'll instantly be a star and target of debate. The people that I met supported their team but in the fun arguments most that I met could recite stats for players on my team as well, and when you had a point about one of their team's weaknesses would acknowledge it instead of fighting to the death in denial. I probably had as much fun talking with Red Sox fans as with fans of my own teams after a big win.
I also like the atmosphere around Fenway before and after the games, the fans are there for baseball (and Italian sausages).

It would have to be the SF Giants. they have the third longest World Series drought in the mlb. Before they got there new stadium in 2000 management was going to move them to another city it seemed like every year. Candlestick Park? one of the coldest and most harsh environments in sports history they used to have to hand out pins to fans who would sit through the cold to watch their boys of summer play ball yeah sit in the COLD to watch a baseball game in the summer. They have had to watch game sevens come and go in the world series them always being on the losing side. At least the cubs have won a world series for chicago the indians have won a world series for cleveland the city of san francisco has never won a world series but since 2000 they have drawn over 3 million fans every year even when in the last two years they have had losing records only 3 other teams have ever done that and they were teams that were always winning. San Francisco fans are the best group of fans in mlb.

I'm a Yankees fan, but if you ask me the Royals have the best fans. Let's face it the Royals are horrible and have been horrible FOREVER! But, they still have a few fans. If they could stay loyal to a team like that they should be called the best fans in baseball.

I am from Houston, but my dad grew up in St. Louis and I would have to say that cardinals fans are the best and most loyal. Every time I went to a Cardinals vs. Astros game in Houston, there would be more Cardinals fans. I am truly impressed with their spirit and loyalty. Even though I am not a fan, I was glad to see them win. My dad pays close attention to all the games and makes sure everyone knows how they are doing. He is the owner of a large business, and he makes sure to wear his Cardinals' jersey to work when they play.

I've been to numerous games at Fenway, Yankee Stadium and (old) Busch Stadium.
Red Sox fans are definitely the most knowledgable and gracious.
I had always heard great things about St. Louis fans, but after spending 2 years there, I was not impressed at all.
John Doe has obviously never been to Fenway.

how could anyone say the Yankees have the best fans...they have a history of booing their star players...they booed (and threw things at) Roger Maris into a mess of frayed nerves, they boo A Rod unmercifully...thats ridiculous... I know real Giant fans(not the new young yuppies on their phones and blackberrys) are pretty knowledgeable and faithful, they havent won anything since hitting the west coast...and sitting night after night in that old cold cave Candlestick was pretty bad...(tough watching mays, mccovey, bonds and those talented old teams knowing they would never win...grrrrr)
