A person's mind is like a ump of clay. What you see with your eyes and hear with your ears the mind focuses on.

If you want to control your thoughts feed your mind with what you want it to be such as relaxing music, pictures of serene islands and the like...

Just keep working on it and if you truly want to change this negativity, it will be changed as you do. It may come in increments but that is okay. Keep watching "The Secret" if it makes you feel more positive and try to figure out what changes in your mind happen and why the movie influenced you so. Then you can imitate that action until it works for you. Loads of books have been written about becoming more positive, so go to the library and find some that appeal to you and check them out. Wanting to make a change is half the battle, so you are on your way. Keep trying and don't stop until you become whatever you want to be. You can do it! The real answers lie within you alone.

Be renewed in the spirit of your mind, ..SET (seat them by choice) your mind on things above and not on things below, where moth and dust corrode..... Think about things that are true, honest, just, and pure, if there be any praise, if there be any virtue, thanksgiving and worship(to The Lord), think upon these things, and the PEACE of God will fill your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus The Lord.(Philippians 4:8-9)..........Remember, even hormonal and other physical problems will be powerfully effected or even fully remedied, the more you apply this Godly wisdom and discipline. Begin to (Disciple),-yourself to do the OPPOSITE, of whatever NEGATIVE feeling, or emotion your entangled in at the moment! The Word of God says, "RESIST," the devil and he WILL FLEE FROM YOU!This word resist means,"TO DO THE OPPOSITE!" So whatever ACTION would be OPPOSITE, of the devil, ask The Lord and DO IT! It will always be linked to ,"HEARING, SEEING, MEDITATING (chewing on as a cod in your mind thoughts, and visualizing). Also, Scent, Touch, taste can also inspire along with the 3 at the beginning. Soft music while reading and meditating in The Word of His Truth, a scented candle, the joyful singing of birds outside an open window, the crackling of a fire in the fireplace, all add to an atmosphere for The Lords presence to be fully enjoyed, spirit, soul, and body, apply any or all of the above, begin to learn how to direct your thoughts onto, and into, Him in all situations and circumstances, when your stressed, take a moment to stop everything and re-direct your thoughts to The Lord, I used to go to the rest room at work and take a few moments to breath deeply, relax, and PRAY & EXPECT RESULTS IN FAITH BELIEVING! I called it P&P, Pause & Pray!! Just begin where you are, " TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION,"spirit, soul, and body. Cast all your cares upon The Lord, and He will fill your hearts and minds with His own perfect(mature, complete ) PEACE= (nothing missing, nothing broken) This dear one is the true and absolute way to THINK with confident self assurance , because He will not give you a stone when you ask for bread, or a serpent when you ask for a fish. He is faithful even when we're not for He can do no other, and will be faithful to perform what He has said and promised every time!!! And THIS IS REAL! And VERY, VERY, POSITIVE!

I also am negative more than I want to be. When you have a neg. thought about something, try to find 2 or 3 positive things about it. Instead of "Boy does she have a big nose!" , try " her hair is really pretty, she has really good taste in clothes", etc. you get the idea. If someone is really negative to me, I am extra nice to them. I try to "ruin" their bad day, and not let it get me down. doesn't always work, but when it does it feels good. Also try to hang around positive people. If your friends are negative, its hard for you to be positive.

there is a book called "The Feeling Good Book" by doctor Burns. He has a section that deals with changing these negative thoughts. write down the event that made you think the negative thoughts then write the thought. then you need to figure out what is wrong with this thought. then you can write a rational response. for example, If I let my child jump on the furniture and he got hurt I might think, "I am a terrible mother" what is wrong with this thought? the word terrible is wrong. a terrible mother locks her child in the bathroom with a bag of chips and toilet water to drink while she goes to Vegas for 3 days. A rational response would be: As a mother, I made a mistake allowing my child to hurt himself and next time I will be more careful. Anyway, Dr. Burns can explain it much better. changing these negative thoughts takes practice.

It certainly takes time. If you are able to, check out a movie called "What the (Bleep) Do We Know?". Yes, the title's a little strange, but if you enjoyed the Secret, this one dives even deeper into the source of where the Law of Attraction comes from, our minds. It is actual scientific fact that over a period of time of thinking a certain way, our brains actually rewire themselves to thinking this way almost on a continuous basis. But it is possible to "rewire" them again, causing you to think in a more positive way on a continual basis. It takes time, doing this over and over again to get our brains to be accustomed to working this way. But it is very much possible. I used to be like you, too! After seeing that movie, and then the Secret, though, I realized that it is all up to us what we experience, even our emotions and thoughts. Check it out! and good luck, it sounds like you are really striving to have a more positive life.
