getting a superior a gift for a b-day is dangerous for office morale. Other employees tend to suspect favoritism even if there is none... don't put her in that position. Why not be the one to plan a small office party.. See if everyone will kick in $5 then pick up something she would like.. the gift will be from everybody, you can still take her for a nice lunch (as a cover while everyone is getting a cake ready) and everybody is included that way.
This keeps your boss neutral in the office, and still preserves your friendship.

It is not necessary to buy gifts for a friend. Taking her to lunch is enough to spend. I am sure she doesn't expect a gift, since she is your boss.

1.) Try a gift card from her favorite department store.
2.) Personally, I like to spoil my friends. If I were you, I would spend the extra five bucks.

frist of all, i saw a home spa kit for only 14.00 dollars at bath and body works. Second,
u should consider going to a nice but cheap place to eat. like EL CHICO. if u have one in your state. it is cheap and they give u free cheese sauce and salsa at the start and sopapias at the end!

Well if you know her pretty well, you will know her tastes and she probably has some favorite things she collects, or decorates with, or likes...like a chocolate lover....animals, or country items, or something for her desk....a handmade item from a boutique, etc. the idea is to be thoughtful....

i could say your assessment of the region is real. Your boyfriend is the main to assisting you take care of this habit. It sounds such as you have already shared your concerns with him, and it sounds like he concurs, so the only subject that continues to be is his assisting you take care of it. i think of he needs to easily be advantageous you're secure in any conversations the place the three of you're together, and if there is any impolite habit on the area of his ex-supervisor, he needs to go it off. permit's say, case in point, if she makes a education related to the three of you getting together for dinner, yet excludes you and would not look to place the question to you. Your boyfriend can say, "properly, Jill, what do you think of?" and actually go away issues as much as you. in case you're saying, "i think of that's a super thought," that's his cue to settle for...while you're making up an excuse, then he needs to say no and make it sparkling that that's the two one in all you making that determination together. On a private notice: the suitable way you could win isn't permit this woman understand that she is attending to you. shield your poise, stay friendly...and in case you fairly choose to kill her, take your boyfriend's arm on the same time as she talks or slip your arm around his waist (i could talk this with him until now, so as that he's waiting...and that's much extra effective if he does it to you on the same time as you all talk!) i think of that sends a efficient message, and if she fairly is jealous, that'll consume her up! confident, that's slightly undesirable, i understand...yet i could no longer face as much as throwing that one in. ;-D solid luck!
