Is globalization an issue for e-businesses? Please tell me your thoughts on this.

I would say yes from 2 points of view.

1. My business comes to me from around the world. That's only possible because of the reach of the Internet. I made a short video about this topic. I'll put the URL in the source box.

2. Since clients can come from anywhere, so can competitors. For those in the more affluent developed countries, that will eventually mean a reduction in income from Web based business -- at least for any business that could be conducted by someone who lives a less expensive place.

I track my own Web statistics regularly. Although my Web traffic has gone up steadily, my ranking in Alexa.com has gone from the 80,000 to over 300,000 today. (An Alexa ranking is like a golf score. Low is good.) I've just learned that the number of Web sites from China is exploding, giving English speaking sites a run from their money in the overall rankings. This does not currently affect my income, but in the long term and across the board, I believe it will.

globalization means cheap labor for business, less jobs for the west. and more profits for share holders. if your an average Joe, to bad theres nothing in it for you
