The Premiership has only been going for 15 years or thereabouts, why not have best ever top flight player?
You'd get more answers then and wouldn't be limited to the last 15 years.
From what I've seen Kenny Dalglish was awesome.
If we are limited to the last 15 years, then I agree with the 2 gooners, one above me and one below me. Dennis Bergkamp was also awesome.
George Best was a pisshead, he used to turn up for training and matches pissed. By the time I started following football George Best had been and gone to Fulham.

whats the deal with the George Best and Kenny Dalglish answers thought the question was PREMIERSHIP player!!!!!!!!
The answer has to be Eric Cantona, Man Utd were unproductive before his arrival and he started the ball rolling excuse the pun, in making Man Utd the greatest club in the world.

I know this message will fall on death ears and all...
...plus I'm a Hammers fan, so to say that any one who hasn't played for West Ham is probably the best, is hard for me to do.
But football is a team game, plus this player is missed most by his team currently, so it surely means he was great...
...so surely Vieira was/is the best ever player to play in the Premier League.
