ok my female betta just died yesterday died :'( and i have a male betta that is blue,red,and a little green and i wanted to know what color of female betta should i buy to produce a good and colorful spawn

ok nevermind i just got a female betta and it is half brown and half blue so what can you predict of what my spawn will come out(i mean the colors of my spawn)

Red is the most dominate color out of those three, then blue then green (which is actually a blue tone with a yellow overlay) So I would encourage you to get a red female so that the majority of the spawn will have a lot of red in them. While color does come from both parents, the female has more influence in this characteristic than the male.

Before you breed your betta, ask yourself if you are ready to care for the 50-500 babies that could possibly come from this breeding, and if you have homes ready for the offspring when they are older. Breeding animals should not be taken lightly.

well pet store bettas are poorly bred and their offspring are unpredictable. so unless you know the traits of the parents it's hard to tell what they'll turn out like.
