I have a bunch of older systems that my brother wants to borrow (NES, SNES, Genesis... ect) I've heard that these systems can damage new projection TVs. My brother bought a brand new 55' Sony projection TV and I just want to make sure that using these on his TV won't damage it or ruin the quality.

Thanks!

well to answer your question NO, no system will damage any TV, but pausing for long periods of time or playing a game with a HUD(heads up display) that does not move CAN damage a TV. It's called Burnin- where a image can be burned in to the screen. A lot of todays Plasma, projection, etc Tv's have some protection against it, but it is not a 100% safeguard, so burn in can still happen. The newer Tv's use a program that minorly moves the Tv"s screen around to try and prevent burnin.

Let your brother use the systems on the TV, just make sure no pausing for long periods or an 8 hr session of HALO happens and you will be ok.

video games made for previous TVs will rather nevertheless paintings with an previous television. the only ingredient an previous television won't manage to do anymore is %. up television declares. You do would desire to make your suggestions up is the thank you to connect the sport to the television; maximum TVs made interior the final 10-two decades have pink/yellow/white connectors for video and audio; if the sport has that, it particularly is going to paintings super. In particularly previous TVs there may well be no video enter, yet if so the sport in all probability risk-free a field on a cable that has slightly change for channel 3/4 and an antenna connector; plug that field between the television and the sport, music the television to channel 3 or 4, and you'll be sturdy to go.
