I want it to be like "he was suspious of Lewis"
But I just can't think of that perfect word!
Please help!

Sometimes in writing you don't need the perfect word but the word that makes the most sense. Remember that most newspaper are written at an eigthgrade level format. Sometimes with stories you have to go the same route. But I might go with "conjectures" or "suspicions". Hope this helps .
