Hi,
I was given this question in chemistry and I am not sure as to what it is g for. "What is the W/V % of a solution made by dissolving 0.135 mg of KBr in 5.00 mL of water?"

Is this asking for concentration or something?

Thanks for any help you can provide

% w/v is how many g of solute you have in every 100 mL of solution.

In your case, we assume that the volume of the solution will be practically equal to the volume of water ( 5 mL)

You have 0.135 mg = 0.135 *10^-3 g in 5 mL
so you have (0.135/5)*10^-3 = 0.027 *10^-3 g/mL
so 100* 0.027 *10^-3 g /100 mL = 2.7*10^-3 % = 0.0027 %
