Monkeys are not great pets legal or otherwise. I'm assuming you have babysat before??? well having a pet monkey is exactly the same.
keep in mind that they live quiet a long time, they need constant companionship, they throw feces when there angry, and they cost a fortune to maintain in a "healthy" way, and they are very intelligent so keeping one in captivity amounts to cruelty no matter how much you "love" it.

Having primates requires special permits in most cases, Federal Endangered Species Laws apply and you may have specific State, County and City regulations as well. With that out of the way, imagine an unruly child with 5 hands and has no idea what NO means.. I will not tell you that it is not a good idea to own a primate, but they do take lots of care and have very special needs.

With the rigth permits you can get anything. The exceptions would be extremely endangered animals such as gorillas or bonobos. Having seen several monkeys and pro-simians personally i can say that they make horrid pets and are not appropriate for anything except a zoo or, better, in the wild. They are all biters, prone to having temper tantrums and often resort to displays that will get attention such as throwing feces or defacating in inappropriate locations such as on plates or in your sink.

Monkeys at the on the spot are not making sturdy pets in any respect. maximum of them get enormous and extremely solid. they are many times unfavourable. lots of those who purchase them as pets discover out that is not a sturdy concept to have a monkey contained in the homestead and the monkey finally ends up residing on its own in a cage outdoors. you would possibly want to volunteer at your community zoo and get to entice close the monkeys there.
