Why is racism such a big problem today? Why can't people see past the fact that one is darker or lighter than another. I go to a school where races don't cross anyones mind. People of different races are best friends, and people of different races date. And why do some people have such a problem with black history and Native American month? You would think that things are getting better but it's the opposite. I don't understand how some people can have hate in their heart for someone that they don't know. But it's true some people their race is so much better than the other. Some people think my school is the worst school on this planet because it is: 51% native american, 39% African American, 5% multi-racial, and 4% hispanic. Why?

I hate racism.
People these days that are racist are snobby people that only care about themselves. I TOTALLY agree with you. Some people have problems with others because of their SKIN COLOR. I mean seriously, what the heck? Don't judge someone you don't even know by how they look like!

Racism is taught and passed down from generation to generation. It started from slavery when "white" people thought that they was superior to Native americans and Africans because our culture, language, our way of living, and the way that we dressed were different. Some people are scared of the unknown, things that are different, and of things that they cannot understand. I cannot understand why someone would hate me because of something that I have no control over. And then there is the stereotypes about races that are utterly ridiculous and stupid for example that all black people live in the ghetto and have a bunch of kids, or white people are shallow and snobby. Stupid, I have friends of all colors and never does racism come up, because my friends see no race they just know the kind of person that i am. Sadly I don't think that racism is never going to go away, but if we start with educating our children to love everybody because of their race, culture, and religion then this world would be a much nicer place to live in.

Racism will never ever go away. Even if it gets to the point where we look past color barriers, we will always have gays, jews, muslims, fat and skinny ppl, rich and poor people, smart and stupid people. So its not always about color. People will always find a reason to dislike other people, whether it because of their religion, social status, or color of their skin. It's sad but true. Alot of people dont realize that their are other months dedicated to other ethnic groups, their is Asian American History Month, and a month dedicated to hispanics. People dont like what they dont know about. I think interracial dating is so cool.It takes a lot of courage to date someone from a totally different race or culture especially if your family is against it. I could never imagine what a lot of those couples go through, I know where i live it's looked down on by both white and blacks...which is oh so sad. People need to to just grow up and get a reality check.

because people act different and have bad experiences with other people. also there is the media ragging on all races about this and that saying all white people hate black people but you know that's not true than you have allot of white people who feel hated at by black people. for an ex. i stooped at a stop sign and a person behind me beeped repeatedly even though i stopped normally and i got angry and gave the person the finger and that person drove up by me and the person was black called me a racist White cracker. now i didn't even notice that she was a different race at all it was very sunny out and was practically blinded by the sun and she just assumed that i gave her the finger because she was black. now what needs to happen is all races need to teach there children how to be good people and not let there kids follow fads the thing that makes me relay mad is if one African American call another ****** its OK now if a White person says that its raciest/..... now whats the point of the word? I'm 1/2 white 1/2 Indian and i just don't get this racism stuff at all. and the more slurs i get from other races even my own the more it makes me hate there raise for raising them like that,.

I hate racisim. Here there are not alot of whites in my school. I was the only white one in the class. We acctually had a white teacher that did not like blacks. I think people look down on interracial dating because they do not want anyone of oppisite race to be with them. I have no idea why. I love anyone of any color or religon. There is no such thing as different races. We are all the human race.

It may not seem like it's that way at your school, but it is.Even if it's not there so much with the students...it's prevalent in the teachers...Racism is the reason interracial dating/marriage is looked down on.Racism is the reason some think your school is bad because it's mostly minority.

I think your school sounds awesome.
I am 24 and I wish I had the opportunity to attend a school like yours.
Maybe you can use your priveledge to benefit others. Maybe you can get a group of students from your school together. And form a club/organization that educates people about cultural tolerance.

Racism is asign of ignorance. I have many friends that are black and Asian. I never judge based on skin color or race.

Humans use arbitrary differences as inane reasons to look down others and therefore elevate themselves in their own minds.

People have a problem with black history month because there is no other month, there is no Jewish month or White month or any other month. Jews suffered as much as the blacks did and they dont have anything special. I do not believe in affirmative action because of smart people getting turned down because of their race, that is racism. People cant see through the fact of dark and light because of their back grounds. And racism derives from experience and what you were taught. I grew up in a one race town, and I moved to a down with mixed racism, I am not racist. I believe that we are all equal hence not likeing affirmative action. But my brother has taught me something that is a cause of racism. He told me that if you walk down a street and a guy in a red hat robs you your gonna be like ok, and move on. if you walk down another street and a guy in a red hat jumps you then your gonna think i dont like red hats. then if you go down another street and see a guy in a red hat your gonna try and walk away from that guy even tho that guy may not be like the others. that is how it is started. from experience. Still it is wrong. But that is why it is started. As for inter racial relationships I am a firm believer of choice. it is your choice and i wont make up your mind.
