I am currently going to boarding school in Oregon, and while I have been up here I have taken a very strong interest in starting my own vineyard and orchard as my career. I have been looking on the internet for some information, but I have not found anything sufficient enough to help me. What do I need to major in college? What steps do I take to get started? Any information would be much appreciated.

There's an old saying that you can make a small fortune with a vineyard. Just start with a large fortune.

Seriously, check out the University of California websites. That system has some great courses.

The best pointers I can think of are: Go to the wine section of your local store, pick out the wine you like the most, take it, a glass, a chair, and sit where the winery would be located, and drink about it. You may need more than 1 bottle to make it effective. Think of all the work you just avoided by doing it this way. Let alone the wear and tear on your tools and work clothes.
