The middle of the old town is the most expensive place to stay! We were there in November and stayed in the Ramada on Wencelas Square, it's a four star. Very nice, but you have a huge choice of three star hotels; I think the best bet is to look on the internet; you will find at least fifty reasonable ones if you just type in the word "Prague" and start searching. I would recommend you do this with a map of the city, so you can locate your hotel. It's a beautiful city, everyhting is within walking distance, so you should have no problem finding somewhere reasonable that's also close to everything.

In Old Town square, there is a hotel called the Three Drums. It is rated three stars, and rooms are from 79 euros. Another hotel is the Antik hotel, which is small and cozy. It is a good place to be. There are many interesting historical sights.

We went to the Golden Stag it's near all the major tourist attractions within walking distance...
Ancient building, feature bathrooms with jacuzzi's, not expensive and breakfast included...
The only problem is that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms but there is a mini-bar...
Also if you go look at St. James' church, the withered arm...
Just a tip.
