I know real estate is expensive in both, but it seems renting is higher in NY. The weather can't be beaten in LA. So which is better to live in? Pros and cons of both. Please, someone who has either lived in both cities, or knows someone who has lived in both.

I lived in Los Angeles and currently live in NYC. Each city is very different. In NYC we typically travel by subway or bus, or walk. The Los Angeles area has mountains and beaches.
NYC rent is very expensive, as is most everything. Only you can decide which city is better for your lifestyle. I don't like to drive, so NYC is better for me. I can walk or use public transportation.
NYC is cold in winter. Summer temps vary.
L.A. will always have a special place in my heart.

It would really depend on the kind of living you like. If you want a fast phase living, then New YorkCity is the right one. But if you want some place a bit slower than NYC, then LA should be your choice.
If you don't like to drive much, then better go to NYC where you can go places just using the public transport.

there are both terrible for driving in. you may see some celebrities more in LA.
