They cater for people who have just travelled and need somewhere to rest and freshen up before continuing on business. Typically, the day rate is slightly less than 50% of the night rate. The day rate will give you anywhere upwards of 3 hours in the room. However, these terms vary from hotel to hotel.

Of course you can. There are two or three right in the area of the Stratosphere at the north end of the Strip. If you go any further North, you're risking your safety.
