Bullet with Steve McQueen will be the one to beat, since Steve McQueen drove the 1967 Shelby GT 500 him self. The other car was a 1969 Dodge Charger 426 hemi magnum. A unbelievable chase scene through he streets of San Fransisco. Other wise for newer movies, I have to go with Vin Diesel's Fast and the Furious or triple X. Loved those scenes too.

Definately: "Gone in 60 seconds" - the 1974 original is even better in this regard than the Nicholas Cage remake.

Another, that you wouldn't have expected - "The Blues Brothers", real police would not have been so wreckless to continue the chase to the point of destroying a shopping mall, and demolishing 50 police vehicles over a red light violation and a suspended liscense.

bullit is good, and really did like the one in bourne supremacy..

also the whole movie "DUEL" (spielbergs first) is basically a chase/cat and mouse game between a Semi and a Car.

I love the car chase in bad boys 2 when theyre chasing after the rastas and martin lawrence shoots will smiths dashboard...purely for the fact that it made the car chase amusing but still kept you on the edge of your seat.

I was thinking French Connection too. Ronin and Matrix Reloaded come to mind as well.
