I am in a 10 team Rotisserie league. I have both the 10th and 11th picks. I am thinking about taking Carl Crawford if he is still around, and either Miguel Cabrera or David Wright. What are your thoughts?

Sounds like a plan - Cabrera and Wright are almost virtually even. Cab has a higher batting avg. Wright is younger and inherently playing on a better team may have more RBI opportunities. But close your eyes or flip a coin - either one will give you a solid corner. If Crawford is not available you may also want to look at Vlad with Cabrera - the 2 batting averages can carry your team and allow you to take a chance on a low BA HR hitter later like Andruw Jones. If for some reason Chase Utley is available you have to do it - the position is too shallow to not take advantage early. Don't be afraid to take Utley and Crawford or Vlad and pass on 2 3B's there is plenty left and you may still have a shot at Aramis in the next round as several in your league will go after Carpenter, Peavy, Oswalt, K-Rod, Nathan in their next rounds.
It usually doesn't happen but David Ortiz may be left to you as well. If you take him, you must fill a position with quality so one those 3B's should be taken. If Utley AND Ortiz are left - that's a bingo.
Since you are on the end, it may seem like you better start taking pitching early but don't worry too much. Get a closer with your next round - you will probably have Wagner, Street and Hoffman to choose from. Resist the tempatation to take 2 and make a pick to help out with your offense. This is a good time to fill 1B or take Figgins if you still need speed. It also starts a slight panick on the remaining closers pushing that starting pitching out another round for you.
Verlander will go in round 6 and there is always some Red Sox wannabe who will take D-Mat in round 4 saving you space for Cole Hammels, Aaron Harang, Felix Hernandez or Matt Cain.

The deepest positions in fantasy are 1B, OF, 3B, SP, SS, C, RP, 2B in that order. But don't let a position panick you into jumping early. In some categories once the top tier is gone the rest are pretty much the same so don't feel like you have to take Freddy Sanchez in the fourth round because everyone else is gone. Fill a need with the best available overall player first.

If you can get Crawford and Cabrera right there then thats who you should go with. You have your draft strategy shapeless like an amoeba, being able to adjust to the way the draft is going. You have to be prepared for the players you are targeting not to be there. Don't fall in love with home runs and low batting average guys, have a well balanced team and don't throw in the towel on any catergoires, a good fantasy owner should'nt have to, so be prepared, a few mock drafts would be useful just to see where everyone is going. Personally, I would take Crawford before 10 if I was there, I would probably take him as high as 5th or 6th, you cannot replace steals like that, and at the end of the season it a catergory like that, that will make the difference. Heres who I would go with right now, but this could change as the season gets closer and new new developes.

yea, i think you are thinking the right way. I have 5 fantasy baseball leagues this year already and have been playing fantasy baseball for a long while now. My top 12 in order from 1-12 are:

1. Albert Pujols
2. Jose Reyes
3. Alfonso Soriano
4. Alex Rodriguez
5. Carl Crawford
6. Ryan Howard
7. Johan Santana
8. Chase Utley
9. Vladimir Guerrero
10. Carlos Beltran
11. David Wright
12. David Ortiz

hope this helps.

I'd expect Crawford to be gone, but if he isn't grab him. Same with either M. Cabrera or Wright.

There is a site called mock draft central, which tells you where players are going in mock drafts (web sites with real drafts have similar info): On that web site, Crawford goes 7th on average (as early as 3rd and as late as 12th), Wright and Cabrera 12th and 13th. (10th and 11th are David Ortiz and Vlad Guerrero.) Utley goes 8th.

Picking there, I'd happily take either Wright or Cabrera (almost a toss-up) and then assuming Crawford, Utley, Santana, and other obvious early picks are available, one of the stud outfielders, like Beltran (prob. gone) Guerrero or Berkman.

If Utley is still there, take him, but I doubt you'll have that option. I would take David Wright over Migs because plays with a much better supporting cast (more RBIs and runs) in NY. I am not a big Crawford fan, so I think I'd go for Vlad instead. Crawford gets you SBs and comparable AVG to other early pick sluggers, he is a step behind in other cats and doesn't have much around him for support.

In the 1st round with the 10th and 11th picks I would get Jeter and you're right with Miguel Cabrera but get Rollins if he's still there or Chase Utley. F.Y.I. I've been through two drafts in two days.

10th and 11th are ok picks but you can still work magic. if i was in your spot i would first take a hitter like Vlad if he is around or someone like that. get a pitcher next. Diaske is good but a gamble. Carl Crawford will be around til the 4th round so dont pick him. he is a good player but not a first pick good. Cabrera and Wright are excellent players so put them in consideration
