The summery can be no more than 2 pages. Double spaced.
And how do I shorten the summery into notes that I can give my class? My teacher said that we have half an hour so I need to make the notes short and concise.

Read the chapter, noting down the key events, characters, dates, and places. When you are finished reading it, use those notes to complete a summary, and use those notes to separately form concise notes that you can give to the class.

Well, if you actually read the chapter, turn on a tape recorder or call an answering machine and pretend your telling someone what happened in the chapter...like you were telling them what happened in a TV show they missed and you saw.

when you get done, play the tape back and type it up.

you will probably tell it out of order, because you will forget stuff and then go back when you remember it....so, after you type it, you should probably edit it and rearrange it...

another way is to write down the first sentence of each paragraph....and then edit that into a summary.

When you write a summary you start with " This chapter was mosly about " then you write the main Idea witch is who+what. After that you include important deatalis and vocabulary.

try and memorize the chapter. Whatever you remember will make a decent summary of the reading.
