The best water bottle I have found is called Critter Canteen, I use 20 total with all our cages. For additional foods, use the link below. Don't give any foods or treats that are sugary, they can get Diabetes. Never give any animal candy this is unhealthy for them. Commercial treats are higher in sugar and should be given sparingly. Peanuts and sunflower seeds are fattening and shoud be hand feed as treats and not left in the bowl to free feed.

Things around the house you can use for treats include and are not limited to:
Small amounts of boiled egg
Carrots
Lettuce
Whole wheat bread with some peanutbutter
Unsalted crackers with some honey on it.
Small amounts of banana, apple, or pieces of grapes (no seeds from the apple or grapes)
Other types of FRESH fruits and vegetables. (nothing exotic though aside from the banana's)
Hope that helps with the treats.
I'm not sure how to help with the water bottle situation though. Could you explain it a bit more. Like when held upside do is not leak? If you gently push on the ball on the inside of the tube of the water bottle does nothing come out. Can't help if not sure what the problem is.
Additional note: Your water bottle is fine. They aren't designed to release a lot of water at once. Only a few drops should come out with each movement of the ball. Don't worry about it. Okay?

You should always feed your hamster 'good hamster food' ... in a box or bag with the label that says HAMSTER FOOD. You may give your hamster any food that you like as a treat ... but NEVER give them more than it can 'stuff into it's cheeks' in any one day, and it's best if you do this only one or two times a week. Hamsters really 'like' candy (doesn't everyone) but they also like different raw vegetables and even 'raw, uncooked pasta' ... and it's really 'fun' to watch a hamster 'store' the long strands of spaghetti ... they shove it in until it 'hurts' and looks like it's going to 'poke through' then pull it out and chew it off and shove the smaller piece back in, and then start all over again, until they have the 'whole piece' in their cheeks.

You can get treats at a pet store. Also they love fuits and veggies! Carrots, apples, strawberries, bannanas, cut them up into small peices and put in a seperate food dish. Dont give your hammie too much. It can cause diharea (sp?) and thats never good to clean up. Also take the fuit and veggies out 4 hours after you put it in. You dont want it to spoil.
As for the water bottle. if your little hammie is running and such i wouldnt worry about it. Because all water bottles are made so they can get water. I though my hammie wasnt getting to the water but sure enough he is fine. :-). Also their are vitamin drops you can get for your furry little guy. (or girl...).
Best of luck!

The list is endless! they love fresh fruit and veg. My syrian loves sweetcorn, peas, nuts, mushrooms and brocolli. The only fruit that is a no no is citrus fruit and tomatoes. Remember, all animals are prone to putting on weight. Avoid "HUMAN" food like crisps or chocolate. But a little cheese, cooked ham or chicken(hamsters eat bugs and insects in the wild) and some sugar free cereal will all be gratefully recieved.

hamsters like peppermint candy and it makes them really exercise on the wheel. also, bathe them just like you would you puppy. use plain dish detergent to kill bateria and fungus. they will thrive with this treatment.
