Certification will probably help you with entry level, but it isn't a guaranteed ticket. You might look into internships or other things you might be able to do without experience to build up your resume a bit while you're getting your certification. On other stuff, a good interview will do wonders for you, experience or not, look up "How Would You Move Mount Fuji?" and "Programming Interviews Exposed".
Salary varies pretty widely depending on the company. Startups you might be making very little, plus options that might be a lot someday. Big corporations you'll make more salary and benefits-wise, but stock will be in smaller doses.

You would be hard pressed to get a job with a certification alone. Employers are generally looking college graduates with degrees computer science or some other technical discipline. All a certification really shows is that you were able to pass the certification exam. Whether you can actually do the work required of you is another story. That's not to say that there aren't college graduates that have no clue what they're doing, but employers are much more likely to take a gamble on a college graduate than someone that just has a certification.

Ease of getting a job depends on many factors: location, personality, competition, market, etc. Experience is always desired by an employer, but in the process of your certification, you may meet some people who can open doors for you. Dont underestimate the power of people networking.
Base salary depends on the size of the company and the responsibilities you will have. A good SA job search site is http://www.dice.com

Get certified you have a job - not difficult and no experience required. The base salary is tough for me to answer but I'm sure Monster.com will provide an accurate range.

getting the job isn't the hard part... getting the job that pays what you want is. Get the cert, then grunt it out for 2-3 years and you can name a decent price.
