Most likely, yes. Sorry, it's happened to me too, that's why I don't buy things that need ironing.

I didnt understand where the hole is and how big is it but i think you can cut it more or make some little more holes and make it look as the holes were there when you bought it. If the hole is in the back you can make a decolette. If you can manage to do it, it will look stylish. Like some washed jeans or the levis jeans that have little cuts on them.

Or you may try to sew a big ribbon or something to cover the hole if its not big.

If you cant do these, you may not wear it alone but you can wear it with a cardigan that will suit the top, if you can hide the hole with it. Or with a nice bolero maybe.

Last thing to do is to go and buy a different top and forget this one. (like ex-bf ? :))

Maybe it's available on ebay or some other site. I would look on the inside of the collar for the name of the designer, then do search google to see if there might be an address or other site you may be able to buy it from.
Chock your experience with an iron up to a lesson learned. Make sure you look at the care label b4 washing or ironing any garment.

Pretty much unless you want to repair it with a piece of fabric underneath, or bring it in to a tailor, and ask them to see what they can do (maybe put a lace insert under it to make it look seamless)...

Or you could wear a brooch over the hole to hide it.. or something like that. Or wear it as an undershirt.
