yes its mean. and i think that their parents are at fault, and if anyone should be "ridiculed" it should be the parents (unless the obesity is a cause of certain illnesses.) anyways.. no its not very nice.. and it doesn't make them want to lose weight.. they know they are fat. it just makes them feel alone and suicidal. glad it worked for you.. but no thats mean

Uhm, NO!! I was, as you say, "a real pudge ball," but all it did was drive me to eat. Food offers comfort when the rest of the world is cruel. Food doesn't judge you. Food can make you feel better.
Its cruel to pick on anyone for any reason. You were there and you should know that it hurts. Why would you want anyone to go through the torture you went through?
I was there when I was younger. It hurt, a lot. I'm still dealing with all of the emotional pain I went through.
I am reminded of a story. A child was a bit of a bully at school, and his/her mother found out. Their mother told them that whenever they made fun of someone, they had to nail a nail into the fence.
Some time went by, and the fence was filling up. Slowly the child began to not say anything mean. The mother said whenever they said something nice to the person they picked on, they could remove a nail from the fence. Eventually, the fence was empty again. The child was proud, but the mother took the child back out to the fence. "Do you see all the holes in the fence? All those mean words made those holes. Nice words can remove the nail, but the hole will be there forever." Mean words hurt for a long time.
And your logic needs some adjustment. Sounds good, but it doesn't work. Words hurt, they are sharper than a sword.

No Chris J, that's really mean. Some people want desperately to lose weight but don't realize that what they eat is bad b/c their parents feed it to them and have it around the house. Especially school aged kids. Alot of people also eat b/c they can't deal with their emotions, and eating makes them feel better. Believe it or not - some people really don't know better. So cut them some slack. Of course, there are those who think big is beautiful, or who are comfortable with themselves as is. Keep an open mind - would you want people to make fun of your haircut which you think is just fine? Its just a matter of personal choice sometimes.

Yes it is wrong. Although not fat myself (the opposite), for some people it's just hard to loose weight. A lot of thin people do not know how hard it is for an overweight person to resist the temptation of food. Picking on them would be bullying them.

yes it is wrong! don't you think the kids know they are fat???
The person has to want to lose weight for themselves not because they are being made fun of.For all you might know there could be a medical condition causing it anyway! Sorry but my opinion of bullies like that are they are the lowest of low even below scum!

Is it wrong to pick on the less fortunate kids too? I mean who wants to be poor! YEAH its wrong, sometimes the children can not help they are overweight. When they are picked on it doesn't want to make them lose weight. It usually just makes them angry and bitter toward their whole schooling experience. Just place yourselves in their shoes no one likes to be ridiculed, whether it is for their weight, status of wealth etc etc. It kinda makes me sick people have to ask these kinds of questions, or maybe I should pick on you for not having manners!

It is never right to pick on a person for any reason . Nobody has the right to judge another person. No body I know walks on water and what may be a flaw with one person another has another. IN this case telling a person they are fat. Nobody is flawless

Yes it is wrong. It will only humiliate them and destroy their self esteem causing them to eat more if that is the problem with the weight. It could be a medical problem. Would you pick on some one with cancer. Any one that does that is shallow and is insecure. as well as imature and cruel

yes it is. Even if it does eventually make them lose a bit of weight in the end, it is probably emotionally scarring. So yes, its wrong.
