Maybe your parents believe/know it's what's best for you.
But, if you feel very strongly about it, talk to them.
Don't just go up to them and say, "I want to quit piano."
Set a time where you can sit down and talk about it.
Let them explain their side of the story...
(Why they want you to keep playing.)
And then you explain your side of the story.
(How you have a lot of stuff going on and don't seem to have time for it anymore.)
One thing to keep in mind: DON'T WHINE/COMPLAIN AT ALL!
Then, they'll just start treating you like a child and won't listen.
(Trust me, I've had lots of experience with this.)
So, just be mature and talk about it.
Hopefully, you can reach an understanding.
Good luck!

Talk to them. Express your concerns and have a discussion with them. They might tell you to finish the year because it is already paid for. You will miss playing the piano on a full time basis(I think everyone who has studied an instrument, then quits cold turkey feels that), but keep some music books nearby(you can find decent piano transcriptions of popular songs for good prices) in case you need a quick fix of playing, then go back to your normal routine.

I am 18, I played the piano in 6th grade for the entire year, and then I quit. Now I really regret it because I have some friends who are really talented and I wish I could play like them. If I only stayed a year or two more, I would be able to be to. Hang in there, you really WILL regret it, and this isn't coming from someone a billion years old, I am only 3 years older than you.

you know how many thousands of people want to play piano but their parents won't get them lessons or they don't have enough money? having musical ability is a talent that you can go far with but you have to try. just because you're busy doesn't mean you should give up.
but if you must give up, then i'd atleast tell your parents that there are more important things to you than the piano, things that your heart is set on and you would be more able to succeed at because you want to. if your heart is not into something then you won't do well with it. just explain to them that you have other priorities that are more important than piano.

You could tell your parents your more interested in your schoolwork, and piano is taking too much of your time. If you just dont like piano and want to change instruments, then tell them you want to try new things that you will enjoy more. Have you even given them a hint that you want to quit? If you have they wont take it as hard (if they REALLY want you to take piano). But if they just want you to join because they think it will be good and fun for you, well, tell them its not and you for once need to make you own decisions.
anyways good luck!

Maybe you can talk with your school counselor, and tell her how overwhelmed you are feeling, and ask her for suggestions. Maybe she can help your parents to understand there is only so much you can fit in a day. The school sports you can't do later, and should for sure, be able to enjoy while you can. Piano, you can pick up later.

My parents forced me to take piano lessons too... i got out of it by moving...haha, but try talking to your parents, if you talked to your parents already, try making them understand, make them understand you are doing way too much, because if you are too preoccupied your grades might slip and all that, high school is actually the most important grade level. so just try explaining your situation to them. ( if im not helping, im soooo sorry)
