system restore will not let me restore to an earlier day it keeps saying that restoration was unsuccesful and no changes have been made to my computer

Hi,
This is simple just put the Windows C.D in the drive and click REPAIR when the options came up, but if your system is really playing up go for the reformat and clean install, don't forget to backup before you do it. Hope this helps.

I had that problem but with perseverance it eventually restored to the point I wanted. Keep trying.

It's one of two things either you haven't enough disk space or the system resort files are corrupt if they're corrupt you've had it if you're short of disk space just free some up empty the recycle bin for a start

I have had that problem too. Had to re-format my hard drive in the end. Best thing is keep off any dodgy websites and you find it won't happen again.

yep mine does too system restore is useless
