to determine if its PP orPp, u have to cross pollinate it with a homozygous white plant (pp).

if it has PP phenotype,
PP*pp= Pp, Pp, Pp, Pp ......all the ofsprings will be purple

if it has Pp phenotype,
Pp*pp= Pp, Pp, pp,pp..... 2 offsprings will be purple while 2 will be white.
