2004- The internatonal Summer Olympics were held in Athens, the capital of Greece, although there were venues for various sports throughout Greece.
The ancient Olympic Agons were held in Olympia, commencing in 776 BC and they have become better known because of their revival in 1896. However, there were other noted athletic contests in antiquity in other cities e.g. Nemea.

What is the question exactly?

Are you asking about the Olympic Games of 2004?
If yes, then the city is Athens, the capital of Greece.

If you ask about Ancient Olympic Games, they were held in Olympia (Ancient Olympia) a town in the south-west Greece.

The ancient games were in Olympia, which is about an hour and a half out of Athens. The modern Olympics, starting in the 19th century, were held in Athens.

Every city-state held athletic games, dedicated to their God. In Athens they did the Panathenaia, in delphi the Pythia, in Olympia the Olympic games if that's what you ask.

If you are referring to the modern olympic games, then it's Athens.
