Depends on why they are going on there. It can be fun and informative for them, however they should also be monitored so the parents know exactly who their children are corresponding with.

I am 18 and I am guilty of having a Myspace as many of my friends do. Myspace can be dangerous for anyone, doesn't not matter what age.
However, younger kids are more likely to do things that puts them in danger. Like giving away personal information like their school, where they live whatever.
There are some real crazy's on Myspace, you just have to be aware of that. And realize, whatever you put on Myspace is visible to the public - ( unless you chose not too) and that public includes those psychos!

No the Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported more than 2,600 incidents last year of adults using the Internet to entice children. Kids reveal an awful lot about themselves you can do a search yourself on myspace and find pictures, names and photos of their friends, details about where they were born, what they like, and where they hang out even their full address and their cell phone numbers (they aren't too bright about that)
Kids think Teenagers on myspace they aren't thinking about
Adults or Predatators. Keep them off the sight or closely
supervise.

I thought myspace started out being for kids?? When I first heard about my space on TV I heard it was for kids and there was a issue about adults being on the site trying to talk to younger people. So I thought it was just for kids from the jump

Yes there is a way to set profiles to private so no one can enter unless permission from the person. Like if I was a friend from school and we knew each of us had a myspace then one could look for the other and ask to be added as a friend. Then they could be accepted or denined

Well Myspace is ok for anyone that wants to use it in a healthy way. Kids can use it I mean like as longs as they don't exppose themselves and there's ways to do that. The most common error of kids with a Myspace is putting their info up for anyone to see. They can put their profiles on private and noone (unless their added as a friends) can see their pictures or their about me basically the person (unless they're added as a friend) can see that profile. Basically what I'm trying to say is that Myspace is ok for kids as long as they don't do ther following :
1. talk to or add anyone they don't know
2. give out any information that's vital (phone # address) in their about me section or anywhere..
3. "dangle" their profiles in front of pedofiles faces. DON'T EXPOSE YOURSELF PUT YOUR PROFILE ON PRIVATE!

Probably not. You can have the most secure PC in the world and the most honest kid, but they will always be exposed to crap. You don't even have to go looking for it, it comes to you. So with that said, if you don't want your kids exposed to this, MySpace is not the place for them.

I think it can be dangerous but if the kids do not add anyone as a friend that they do not know personally, I dont think it is such a big problem.
