My son was 6 months old when he was able to balance, sitting, without any support. But if you mean go from lying down to sitting up on his own, then that was more like 9 months.

My daugther is 6 months and get sit down up on her own, and would get into the sitting position from her tummy. see you later as your toddler is sitting on their own, and crawling and attempting to face, i does no longer problem.

like four months she was able to sit unsuported like 20min then at five to six she could pull herself up to a sitting position
