Does anybody know where I can get hold of information on solicitors in the UK who have committed fraud within the past 15 years. I am doing a report - I'm talking about some kind of archive system or something like that. Any ideas?? Cheers.

I don't know of any statistics, but the only real useable online archive would be the Law Gazette. - Go to http://www.lawgazette.co.uk/archive.law and search for the phrase 'struck off'. If a solicitor is ever found guilty by a criminal court or the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal of what you're calling fraud then he or she will be struck off the roll. Unfortunately for your search, the word fraud most likely won't be used so you may have trouble extracting the data relevant to your search.

You could ask the Law Society if any reports have been compiled that they could let you see.

The law society must have records, but you may need the freedom of infomation act to obtain them. The big problem is getting a solicitors to act against the law society.

Solictors committing fraud ? oh no ! proving it very hard. I lost a lot of property because my ex landlord's solictors were as corrupt as he was as well as that they worked with the Council and told lies. Does this sound like fraud. The trouble is that the system allows them to do what they want and get away with it , unless they get caught but how often ?
