People sometimes experience less severe or prevent motion sickness altogether if they look out the window toward the horizon in the same direction that the vehicle (car, boat, plane, what have you) is moving. Simply taking a nap also helps since it takes your mind off of the movement.

There are over the counter medications for motion sickness like Dramamine or Bonine. But these might make you pretty drowsy. There are also prescription medications you can ask your doctor about such as Scopace.

Some people swear by ginger because it calms your stomach down. You can suck on a piece of crystalized ginger or sip ginger tea.

If I was affected by motion sickness, I'd take a Dramamine then kick back with a cup of ginger tea and wait til the sleepiness hits then curl up for a nice nap. Wake me up when we get there!

Get some anti-motion sickness pills from your doctor. If you are on a flight, you may be able to get them off the air stewardess. I use them all the time.

Standing still, or staying put in one place should do the trick.
