Why is it so hard to find a decent person to date, even be friends with. There are so many rules u have to follow e.g muscular/athletic to smooth or hairy and on like that. Is this only in DC or it is everywhere?

Well, when we talk about 'decent person to date' are we talking attractive or their character? Attractive is easy; if you can't find anyone that fits the bill of 'gay and cute' you're blind.
Character is another matter, and that *is* hard to find. I say the rules of dating still apply, even if it makes me look curmudgeonly. I may be queer but I don't kiss on the first date, insist on good behavior, and a trash mouth (or other low-class action, like sending a picture of your crotch) gets you kicked to the curb.

No offense, but I live in DC and I've never had that problem; I think it's just your situation. You have run across the wrong people that's all, they sound like some really shallow people who are more concerned with looks etc. than with the real person inside. Just keep trying, we're not all like that!!

Dating is always a minefield, regardless of where you live or who you're attracted to. Good luck finding someone. Just focus on finding people you like being with, as that's the most important thing in life.

many muscular and atheletic people tend to be a bit arrogant. they can be picky about who they date because they are always getting tons of people interested in them, so they take romance and even friendship for granted.
try dating someone who is average looking or maybe even a bit overweight. they will be more appreciative of your attention and will take the relationship more seriously.

sounds like the type of people you are interested in are very shallow, not everyone has rules like that just be yourself and you will attract people that like you for the true person you are
