Which book by Brian Greene is better?

I have to write a paper for which I will be discussing astronomy. I have not yet decided whether the paper will be informative or persuasive. But overall, which of these books gives a better understanding of the universe in a quicker way (I dont have much time to write it):

1. The Fabric of the Cosmos (Brian Greene)
2. The elegant Universe (Brian Greene)

The ELegant Universe has sold many more copies and just from reading the book jackets seems to be more of a summary...
