Totally agree about Gatlinburg....i love it, its so warm and comfortable there, like you want to stay there forever. Make sure that you visit Pigeon Forge ( you will go through that probably) Dollywood is there, the Fiddler's Feast and the other Dolly dinner and show! And you can ski there if you go in the winter! Have fun! Oh and they have an outlet MALL!

I loved lookout mountain in Chattanooga, TN. There is an Incline Railway you can ride, Ruby Falls cave with a huge underground waterfall, and Rock City, the top of the mountain with great views. You can see 7 different states from the top. It's really pretty. I thought going here was the best part of the trip my boyfriend and I took to Tennessee last fall.

Rent a romantic cabin in Gatlinburg. I did a quick search on "Gatlinburg cabins" and got tons of sites. Some of them have hot tubs and such. A nice touch would be to surprise your spouse by having the rental company put some champagne or chocolates etc. in the room for your arrival.
