Vingen was a varnished yacht about 39ft long with a spoon bow and pointed stern.The rig was called "Longstron Rig", the mast revolved ,had no rigging and the sails goose winged when running with the wind. It was shipped to Vancouver in the late fifties.Can anyone help me find it's where abouts. Ann G.R.

try the Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle or WoodenBoat Magazine up in Maine.......they can at least send you in the general direction.......I know Vancouver is a hotbed of woodenboats but dont know who Information Central is there.....

Vingen is in Norway and is famous for stones, rocks etc. I would see if there is info from the Norwegian travel bureau about Vingen. Maybe a contact there will remember the vessel.

It was in my backyard until yesterday, I broke off the last remaing piece of the bow for firewood. I assume it was the VINGEN because the particular piece of wood I used said "GEN" on it and you could see half of the N.
