16 is the legal age unless your parents or family members own the restaurant. Also, some restaurants will not hire you until you are 18 because of the alcohol served in the restaurant (If I am not mistaken, you have to be 18 to even handle or take orders for alcoholic drinks)

Age limit to work most places is 16.
