Or is another type of software program needed? Specifically looking for something which would be able to block my younger children from accessing certain websites.

I'm not sure if this might help, but if you go to Tools (on IE7), then Internet Options, then Security, then Restricted Sites, you'll see a button named Sites. Click that, then type in the name and click add. Then check the level (i'd set it to high). Also, your internet security should have a parental control.
Mail me the type (norton, penicillin, rogers, ect.) and i'll see what i can do.

You can obtain software or put the restrictions on IE 7 as described above, or if it's just a few sites you're targeting, you have these other options:

1) If you have a firewall (either software or on your router), you should be able to block the domains using domain filtering.

2) Routers often have parental controls that can be enabled to block domains, keywords, or specific sites.

3) Place a bogus entry in your hosts file for the targeted sites. This will prevent any connection to that site from any software
(c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts)

My son uses AFA (American Family Association) software to restrict his minor children to sites he has screened.
