There are a thousand millions in a billion. There is a thing called a British billion where there are a million millions i.e. one million multiplied by a million but it isn't commonly used because of the very large amount involved.
As for a trillion, there are a thousand billions in one trillion although I'm not sure if trillion is used officially. The same thing with a gazillion. I'm afraid it's just a colloquial expression to mean an amount that is insanely huge.

When you move from one measurement to another, it goes up by a factor of 10, 1, 10, 100, until you reach 1,000, then the measurements go up by a factor of 1,000.
To go from a million to a billion means that you have 1000 million of something. Since 999 (hundred, thousand, million, billion, trillion, quadrillion, etc) is the limit, 1000 is when it changes.
As for a gazillion, it is both a figurative word for a very large number or, according to Merriam-Webster online:
One entry found.

Main Entry: ga·zil·lion
Pronunciation: \gÉ-Ëzil-yÉn\
Function: noun

: zillion: an indeterminately large number

A gazillion doesn't really exist so you can make up a meaning if you really want.
