Without being there at the car its hard to say I am thinking its the Fuel pump get a guild to your car at a parts store near you. Then look up where the fuel line is at the engine. Then it should be a rubber hose that connects to a little metal tube like thing its a filter take it off and blow in it and while doing that place your hand on the other side if there is little to no air then you need a new one (cheap fix). Now if you don't have this at all and trust me you wont be doing anything that will hurt you or the car at all. Take the rubber tube off the engine and start the car with a friend watching the rubber tube. Now when you start the car gas should be coming out and if not its your gas pump that is bad and the book you bought at the parts store will tell you everything I just did and will tell you how to take out the fuel pump. Now when you buy a new pump there will directions in there for you as well so its all dummy proofed for you. I hope this works for you.

Oh!!! if either is bad then you need to take your car in to a shop.

I put a link up of the book you need to buy and trust me you will end up using it over and over again.....Take this from a girl who married a mechanic.

a matching concern happened to me some months in the past. The broker suggested, the gas pump is broken using contaminated gas. The fix replace into not lined under guarantee, yet fortuitously the coverage business enterprise pitched in. Ended up costing me my deductible of $500. The broker additionally stated that i will declare the money from the gas pump if I had the receipt, which i did not. desire it particularly isn't the case with you.

more then likely you just have dirty fuel injectors...
obviously, if you have to press the gas to get it to start, youre not getting fuel to the injectors right away... run a bottle of injector cleaner.
