I understand in some circumstances people have to eat fast as in times of battle, however, with this question i am talking about at a sit down dinner with another person. For whatever reason it bothers me and I think it is a sign of gluttony. What do you all think?

I think some of it has to do with the noises, grunts they make while eating their meal so fast, in addition to some bad table manners.

I guess it depends on just how fast they eat. I personally hate it when people eat really slow and I have to wait on them to finish.

It bothers me a little. Mostly because I am a slow eater so they're just watching me eat. I also don't think eating fast is necessarily pig like because I eat slow and I still make a mess. I don't know why but I always drop something. Strange.

Well, some time I pig out on my meals when I'm really hungry but I dont do it with bad table manners; I just take really big bites. But yea, its kinda weird when you're trying to have a conversation with someone that's acting like a neanderthal having dinner. I usually pig out when I'm alone or with really close friends.

My son eats like a pig. He eats very fast and a lot of it. No matter what you call it, it's sickening.

By the way, he's 38.

I agree, it bothers me too. It is right up there with people chewing with there mouths open. I don't need to see that.

It's gross when people do that. I agree.
But it also annoys me when they take a long time to finish, and when they chew with their mouth open or smack their lips or talk with their mouth full.....I get annoyed very easily....

Yes I agree with you. It is nasty. It makes me think that they think someone is going to take their food from them.
