Want to transfer data from on older hardrive and use a new one that is faster and larger to run windows and everything off. But want to keep the old one as a secondary

if i understand u correctly ... a mirroring application like acronis true image or nortons ghost would do it ... ghost ur old drive ... then switch the new one into its spot .. ghost the image back to the new one ... then install the old drive as a slave .. its best to format the old drive also ... at least change it to an logical extended partition instead of a primary ..

Hook it up inside the computer using the grey IDE cable. You have to set your primary drive to MASTER and the secondary drive to SLAVE using the jumpers. (little plastic things that cover arrangments of the pins on the back. There should be a diagram somewhere for how to place the jumper.) Transfer your files from the secondary drive to the primary and then FORMAT the sencondary and then trasnfer them back. You want to get rid of the old windows install...

I have a Mac with two hard drives. One is an older one that I just use as a back-up. I just drag-and-drop anything that I want from one drive to another. Windows can do that, can't it?
