Recently, when I moved I accidentally took a small chunk of wood out of the top of my desk. Is there a way I can patch this? I am completely clueless when it comes to things like this. . . so any simple suggestions would be helpful.

Buy a wood filler, sand smooth, and strip down to bare wood. Get a stain of your choice and use a poly urethane varnish to protect the wood and give a durable finish. You can also go to diynetwork.net and look up the repair.

Sand the area down with a piece of sandpaper gently to remove any loose small chunks and if you still have the chunk of wood that was chipped, glue it with wood glue to your desk, in the spot where it chipped of from.

Wait till it dries and see if you can get a polishing spray to make the wood shiny (If the desk had a finish on it) or just use regular pledge to make it look nice.

You should be able to get this stuff from walmart, target or a plumbing repair place.
Hope this helps!

Superglue!!! LOL :P

There's a special kind of glue for wood... just go into the store and find "regular wood glue" or just ask the people there. :P

... Superglue's an idea though *wink wink*

in hardwarde stores if you ask, they've got repair sticks exactly for things like that, they are coloured hard wax that french polishers use, they are about the size of you finger, i think you heat them up or use a lighter on them then drip it in the hole wait for it to cool ( 20secs) them slide a flat blade over the top to remove excess then polish
