the website YouTube.com seems to be all over the news and the media all the time.
i can't figure out what the usefullness of this site is. i mean, i checked it out once and it seems to me mostly garbage..... stuff like music video's you can see on mtv, news video clips that's already all over the news, and mostly useless crap people take with their video cameras.
i don't do that much "surfing on the net" so i was just wondering if someone can explain to me what exactly this website is good for and why it is so popular.

I dunno, people just get really into it, and it passes the time.

Informative at times.. or entertaining , at others . . It's up to you to sort fact from fiction ; it's all there . Some professional ; many amateur . Sometimes the truth is more hilarious ..
It's that TRUTH , which bothers those like Hillary Clinton . She was trying to stifle Internet sites like youtube , long before there was a youtube .She is quoted as saying , "we have too much free speech". Seems the Internet & talk radio gets out the lowdown on Hillay Clinton so fast that she can hardly get her alibi together and we all know the crime ..THAT'S hilarious !

Because it allows people to submit videos, it allows a "user advertising" area to become reality. (Note this is good for buissness') It also allows for people to have an opinion without having to do too much work, with as many people there, everything gets at least a few hundred views. Also it has guidelines that allow YouTube to becomes a"family safe" site.
(Back to the "User Advertising") Which is why at the superbowl commercials you saw less big movie actors, and more of the "Joe" actor. Its just "Web 2.0" in action (I hate Orily's Jargon)

I predict YouTube will be finished soon. They are removing alot of stuff due to "copyright infringement". Most of the clips people are interested in are copyrighted material such as music videos, clips from TV show, etc. Much of it is not even new stuff. When most of that is gone YouTube will be dead. I just don't envision most people having an interest in watching videos of 12-year-olds dancing around in their bedrooms and lip-syncing some pop song.

I think the cool thing about YouTube is the easy access to millions of videos. Its convenient. The best thing about it, unlike other news sites, you stream the videos very easily, no downloading or annoying commericals to wait for.
I have to agree with you, alot of the videos on there are in poor taste and very lame. I personally like the fan videos that add clips of TV shows and put them with songs. Those are good. They also have trailers for movies on there before alot of other sites do.

It's popular because many people have found stardom through talents they possess, and they post videos on it. Others think they can do so as well, so they follow suit (that explains the garbage you find.). YouTube hosts a lot of videos, good and boad.

Fred makes between $10,000 an $20,000 each and each month, basically from his movies. i'm no longer even counting how plenty he's making from advertising tshirts. which skill he's maximum in all hazard already a millionaire.

You can see fights, music videos, and also performances. You can also put your own video recordings on there. Everyone watches YouTube. Even I do.

It can be a useful tool if you film things and stuff like that. Not all of it is garbage, just most of it. It's also good if you're really bored.

I like using it to see television episodes that I have missed and that haven't made it to DVD yet :)
