Yes, the UK PS3 is a newer, revised PS3 that Sony have modified in pursuit of reliability, making the EU PS3 last for the 24 month EU guidelines, rather than Backwards Compatibilty.

This means that only about a third of PS1/2 games are compatible. Whereas US/Jap consoles have backwards compatibility of around 98%. Although this will change as the newer console is to replace the original Jap/US consoles soon after the European launch.

PS3 games are region free, so they can be played on all three variants (US,EU,Jap). But the Blu-Ray is region locked, and will only play on its native console

The US PS3 can play US movies, the UK PS3 can play UK movies, and the Japanese PS3 can play Japanese movies. If games are region coded, then the US can play US games, UK play UK games, and Japanese play Japanese games. If there is no region coding in games, then all 3 PS3 can play all 3 regions games.

One more difference, the US and Japanese PS3 are available, while the UK PS3 has yet to be released.

Hi,
If you need to download Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince you can get it here for free: http://bitly.com/1m5Ypqv

it's completely free and it's very fast to install
This game sequel is somewhat closer to the story on book rather than on the movie. However, there are still some features which are specifically designed for this game.
It's surely the leader game of its type.
