I use playtex ventiair bottles for pumped breastmilk, but lately I noticed there are like a stains inside of the bottle. They also feel kinda oily, although after I use it I put it into hot soapy water for couple of minutes and then rinse it with hot water. I even try to boil them for 10 minutes, but it didn't help. I don't have a dishwasher and don't want my baby to eat out from dirty bottles. Does anybody has any advice how to clean them?

I have the bottle brush, but it isn't helping either.

I literally JUST sterilized all of my 3 month olds bottles and accesories (like 10 minutes ago). I normally wash them in hot soapy water. Today, to get the cloudiness off of them, I boiled them with BAKING SODA. It worked wonders. I had to rinse off some soda, but I trust everything is clean. You could probably even brush baking soda on them with your brush while washing.

I would rinse them well after each use. Soak them in hot, soapy water for a while. Use a bottle brush to scrub the inside of them.

I would also boil or use a sterilizer as you mentioned. You could also consider switching to a bottle with a disposable liner. If what you are using now has a curved neck, they will be harder to clean.

For sure, rinse immediately after feeding.

First of all I want to thank you for choosing the best food for your baby! I never had that problem maybe because I would put soap directly in the bottle & add hot water, shake and then wash.
if you continue to have this problem, consider those playtex nursers that use the starile baggies(they work great and are a clean fresh start each time) they come in a large variety of nipple shapes and sizes, not to mention they cut down on air bubble related gas.

Good luck & God bless

P.S. keep up the good work Mama, you set a good example
for moms everywhere!

I used hot soapy water with the bottle brushes. It seemed to get everything out for me. I rinsed a lot too. Also you can try the new Dawn with oxy. It gets rid of more grease.

Get a bottle brush to clean them with. (inexpensive, in the baby section at the store)

I use Playtex with disposable liners. So much easier than washing bottles! ;)

You should have a bottle sterilizer. I have included some links. Some are cheap and some or not. They should all do the job though.

Maybe it is your water. I boil mine with distilled water. Worth a try

Discoloration (fogginess) is common with this material. If it still bothers you, dispose and buy new.
