Why is there the word kabhi for kabhi alvida na kehna?

Question

i thought kabhi means sometimes so why is it in kabhi alvida naa khena if it means never say goodbye its so confusing.

im confused about Kabhi being used in the sense of never

well the word "kabhi" means:
1. When (As in kabhi?)
2. Sometimes (kabhi kushi kabhi gham!)

however the meaning of that word can slightly alter depending on the context its used in so in this case it means never.....

also i think it also means don't/never aswell e.g: kabhi math bol na (don't ever/never say that [srry about bas spelling)
its really confusing to explain...this is what i think anyway.....

or are u confused with Kabhi being used in the sense of NEVER?

Its meaning is "never say bye to me" often that's stated to the single whom you like it additionally mean "never overlook me" circuitously. kabhi = sometime, alvida = bye, na = no, kahena = say
