A URL is a term used for (Uniform Resource Locator) which is the name given to a website or a webpage (part of a website).

For example, Yahoo! has the URL http://www.Yahoo.com. That's a URL for a website. It helps locate it by its host name given.

A URL is also used for parts of a website such as a picture. The one that says Yahoo! in red text has the URL : http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/ww/beta/y3.gif.

It gets the picture from there.

So if you wanna get a URL of a song or file, you right click on its hyperlink and choose "Properties". A form will appear, next to the "Address URL" text box is the URL for that file. You have to copy it and paste it where its needed.

URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator and means where a specific thing is on the net.
For example a picture from yahoo.com could have a URL somewhat like:
http://www.yahoo.com/yahoo.jpg
if someone asks a person for their URL it simply means whats their website called.

The URL(Uniform Resource Locator) is the address of a file, folder etc

eg. an url is something like this: C:\Program Files\..... (locally)
but: http://answers.yahoo.com/..... (on the web)

URL is what is in the address bar. It could be something as simple as "http://www.myspace.com" or something like the URL for this site, "http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylt=AgIsFyZjmBpm0SAG8YNRagtx7hR.?link=answer&.crumb=b7PA8RpoBeE&qid=20070304113133AAFd82c&.done=http%253A%252F%252Fanswers.yahoo.com%252Fquestion%252Findex%253Fqid%253D20070304113133AAFd82c" So bascically it's the letters in the address bar that strat with "http://"
