Hello,
Nitric oxide, like poppers, is supposed to make sex better. That's a lot of bull, and doesn't work. People with heart disease use Nitroglycerine under their tongue when they have chest pain. Why? Because nitrites and nitrates are vaso-dialators. That means they enlarge blood vessels and encourge blood flow. That's why the heart patient feels better after taking a Nitro tablet; the blood vessels in their heart are enlarged, so more blood flows to the heart muscle.
The reason men maintain an erection is that blood flow FROM the penis is restricted by constriction of the veins, while blood flow TO the penis is maintained by the arteries. There MUST however, be some blood flow out of the penis during an erection, or there would be tissue damage due to lack of oxygen and glucose. So, if you take a nitrite or nitrate, it will expand the arteries, allowing more blood to flow to your penis. This will force the veins to be allowed to remove more blood from your penis, overcoming the muscular contraction which permits the erection in the first place. This will result in "normal" blood flow in and out of your penis, resulting in loss of erection.
