Would you be willing to pay an additional 10%?

30%?

200%?

Or nothing?

Do you want your 41% refunded? Or part of it?

LG, I'm asking for a percentage.

Al Gato, I said 41% of taxes "go to war". That's generic. I didn't misquote anything. You made an assumption.

There should be a war tax on all registered Republicans. Personally, I'd rather see our taxes going to help the sick, disabled and elderly who need our help.

A Quaker website pots that and you take it to be fact. Did it occur to you that they might be a TAD bit biased and would spin whatever facts they used to support their agenda, which is anti war?? Its called preaching to the choir. While I am sure the amount spent on the war is obscene, the 41% you quote is probably way off base.
I'm sure the amount of taxes spent on the war is clearly listed in plenty of actual legit federal budgets, readily available to anyone.
Using a Quaker site (they are pacifists and anti war) for that is a little self serving.

How can you mis-quote your own source?

According to your source, 26% of federal budgetary funds are for military spending in 2006. 13% goes to pay for past wars...which I am assuming is servicing the debt incurred from those operations - since they list debt service seperate for "non-military".

However, If the remaining question is then will I pay more for the ongoing operations against terrorists, whether in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Oman, UAE, Saudi, Somalia or here...yes. Untill they are annihalated.

I don't know how you came up with that percentage. The defense department budget is nowhere near that percent of the total federal budget. Did al gore tell you this??

I am will to pay whatever it takes to protect my children and not have them worry about Iraq in the future.

I would rather have my money go to National Defense than to support a crack mom or lazy person who will not work!
