I've taken an SAT class and am pretty confident, but not sure what to do as far as sleeping that night, what foods to eat, etc.

* The best thing is to study or review the test preparation materials each day for at least a half hour with an emphasis on the weak areas.
* Sleep at least 8 to 9 hours the night before the test. This is so you do not feel tired while taking the test.
* Write in cursive writing because it is faster than traditional printing or manuscript writing.
* Eat breakfast. Drink juice, protein, toast or bagel, and some fruit.
* Bring snacks to the test center. Juice with either granola bars or cereal bars. There is a break in between each hour.
* Plan to arrive between 7:30 to 7:45 a.m. Give more time to get there than it usually takes you.
* Sharpen the number two pencils and make sure to have an excellent eraser (tested before entering the test site).

Review throughout the week, and make sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep on THURSDAY night before the test (this is more important than getting a full night's sleep on Friday). You should take Friday easy, you don't want to get too stressed out before the test. On Saturday morning before the test you should eat a good breakfast with protein and other nutrients. probably the best breakfast would be eggs + a banana. (the worst breakfast you could possibly eat would be pancakes and syrup - so don't do that). Make sure that you're feeling relaxed and confident before the test, and that you bring a snack with you for the breaks.

I took a Kaplin course on prep for the ACT, which is another high school standardized test. I would not change my habits too much, make sure to get 8 hours of sleep that night, and eat a breakfast similar to what you would normally have. One thing to do that morning is to read something you enjoy for like 5-10 minutes, like the newspaper. You don't want the first thing you read that day to be test. If you get a break between the sections like you do in the ACT, I would bring a snack along and some water. Also they say don't talk about the test during the break with people.

Get a good amount of sleep the night before, 9 hours or so. In the morning, eat something with protein...like peanut butter toast. Take a small snack like granola bars and water to eat during the break. Also, suck on a peppermint candy before the test and during break, peppermint helps you remember things.

Outside of getting a good nights sleep. Next eat a Banana and take one for a snack. It has been proven that those who had a banana before the sat did better thn those who hadn't
